1. About Tap2Finish
Tap2Finish is an Arizona Supreme Court certified online defensive driving school certified under ACJA §7-205. We offer a 4-hour online defensive driving course that allows eligible Arizona drivers to satisfy the defensive driving diversion option for qualifying traffic citations.
By using our services you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To enroll in the Tap2Finish course you must meet all of the following requirements:
- You have received a qualifying traffic citation in Arizona for which the issuing court has authorized the defensive driving diversion option
- You have not completed a defensive driving course in Arizona within the 12 months immediately preceding the date of your current citation, as required by ARS §28-3392
- You hold a valid Arizona driver license or are otherwise authorized to drive in Arizona
- You are 16 years of age or older
- Your citation has not been resolved by another means (plea, payment, trial, or prior diversion)
Eligibility is verified by Tap2Finish staff using the Arizona court database before any payment is collected. If you are found ineligible after submitting your application, you will not be charged and we will notify you by email explaining the reason.
3. Fees and Payment
In compliance with ACJA §7-205, all fees are collected in full before course access is granted. The total fee varies by court and consists of:
| Fee Component | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tap2Finish Course Fee | $20.00 | Fixed for all students |
| Arizona State Fee & Surcharge | $69.00 | Fixed — mandated by Arizona law |
| Court Diversion Fee | Varies by court | Set by your issuing court; shown before payment |
| Total | $89.00 + court fee | Exact total shown at checkout before you pay |
Your exact total — including the court diversion fee for your specific court — is displayed before you are asked to pay. You will not be charged any amount not shown to you in advance.
Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment plans of up to 120 days are available at checkout through Stripe's Buy Now Pay Later options where eligible.
4. Refund Policy
Before starting the course: If you have paid but have not yet accessed any course content, you may request a full refund within 5 days of payment by contacting administrator@tap2finish.com with your citation number. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days.
After starting the course: Once you have accessed course content, the course fee ($20.00) and state fee and surcharge ($69.00) are non-refundable. The court diversion fee portion may be subject to separate refund rules established by your issuing court.
Technical failures: If you are unable to complete the course due to a technical failure on our platform, we will either resolve the issue and restore your progress or issue a full refund at your option. Contact administrator@tap2finish.com to report platform issues.
Ineligible students: If you are found ineligible after application, payment is never collected in the first place. If for any reason an ineligible student is charged in error, a full refund will be issued immediately.
Court diversion fee: The court diversion fee is collected on behalf of the issuing court and forwarded accordingly. Refundability of this portion after course completion is subject to your court's policies.
To request a refund, email administrator@tap2finish.com with your full name and citation number. We respond to all refund requests within 2 business days.
5. Identity Verification
Arizona Supreme Court certification requires us to verify your identity at enrollment and at multiple points during the course. By enrolling you agree to:
- Submit a clear photo of your government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport) at the time of your eligibility application
- Respond accurately to identity verification prompts presented at the start of each course module
- Ensure that only you are present and completing the course at all times
6. Course Rules and Requirements
The Tap2Finish course is certified under ACJA §7-205 and must meet specific legal standards. By enrolling you agree to the following course rules:
- Sequential completion: Lessons must be completed in order. You cannot skip ahead or revisit locked content out of sequence.
- Minimum time requirements: Each of the 16 course segments requires a minimum of 15 minutes of active engagement. The timer is embedded in the video content. You cannot advance until the minimum time has elapsed.
- Interaction requirement: You must respond to a 3-question quiz at the end of each segment before advancing. You must answer all 3 questions correctly. You may retake the quiz as many times as needed.
- Active participation: You must be actively viewing and engaging with the course. Using automation, screen recordings, or other means to simulate participation is prohibited and will result in voided enrollment.
- Browser and device: You are responsible for using a compatible browser and device. We recommend a current version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
7. Course Completion and Certificate
Upon completing all 16 course segments and all associated quizzes, a completion certificate will be automatically generated and emailed to the address you provided at enrollment. The certificate includes your full name, completion date, citation information, course name, and Arizona Supreme Court certification number.
You are responsible for keeping the certificate for your records. We strongly recommend printing or saving a copy immediately upon receipt. We retain a copy of your completion record for 5 years.
If you do not receive your certificate within 24 hours of completing the course, contact administrator@tap2finish.com with your full name and citation number.
8. Court Reporting
As required by ACJA §7-205, Tap2Finish reports course completions to the Arizona statewide defensive driving database within 1 business day of your completion. This report includes your name, driver license number, citation number, and completion date.
Reporting to your specific court is handled through the statewide database system. You are responsible for verifying with your court that your completion has been received before any court appearance date. Tap2Finish is not responsible for court processing delays after the statewide database report has been submitted.
If your court requires you to submit your certificate directly, you must do so yourself using the certificate emailed to you. Contact your court clerk if you have questions about their specific acceptance procedures.
9. Prohibited Conduct
- Proxy completion: Having any other person complete any portion of the course on your behalf. Under Arizona law, the course must be completed entirely by the enrolled student.
- Credential sharing: Sharing your login credentials with any other person for any purpose.
- False eligibility information: Providing false information in your eligibility application, including misrepresenting prior defensive driving course history.
- Identity fraud: Submitting a photo ID that does not belong to you, or otherwise misrepresenting your identity during enrollment or during course identity verification prompts.
- Circumventing time requirements: Using any method to artificially satisfy the minimum lesson time requirement without actually viewing the content.
- Circumventing quiz requirements: Using any method to obtain quiz answers other than through your own knowledge of the course material.
Tap2Finish reserves the right to void your enrollment without refund if prohibited conduct is detected. We are required by Arizona Supreme Court certification rules to report suspected violations.
10. Enrollment Expiration
Your enrollment provides 60 days of access to the course from the date of payment. This window is designed to accommodate most Arizona court deadlines, which typically range from 30 to 60 days from the date of election to take the defensive driving course.
You are responsible for knowing your court's specific deadline and completing the course before that date. Tap2Finish is not responsible for missed court deadlines.
If you need additional time due to a documented medical emergency or other extraordinary circumstance, contact administrator@tap2finish.com as early as possible. Extensions are granted at our discretion and subject to your court's rules.
Enrollment extensions are not available as a substitute for timely completion. Do not wait until the last day to begin the course.
11. Intellectual Property
All course content — including videos, narration, written materials, quizzes, graphics, and the Tap2Finish name and logo — is the exclusive property of Tap2Finish and is protected by copyright law. Your enrollment grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to access and view the course content for the purpose of completing your defensive driving requirement.
You may not record, copy, distribute, republish, sell, or create derivative works from any course content. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of course materials is a violation of federal copyright law.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
No guarantee of court acceptance: Tap2Finish is certified by the Arizona Supreme Court under ACJA §7-205. We make reasonable efforts to ensure our course and reporting meet all certification requirements. However, we cannot guarantee that any specific court will accept your completion if you fail to meet the court's own requirements (such as deadlines or eligibility conditions). Confirm eligibility and deadlines with your court before enrolling.
Accuracy of course content: Course content is reviewed for accuracy against Arizona statutes and is updated to reflect changes in law. However, the course is for educational and compliance purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.
Limitation of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by Arizona law, Tap2Finish's total liability for any claim arising from your use of our services is limited to the amount you paid for your enrollment. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including missed court deadlines, license consequences, or any outcome of your traffic case.
